July 13th Newsletter Details

From the Fundraising Committee: The donations we’re collecting are making a difference.

When I’m out canvassing, I sometimes ask folks who agree to sign the petition if they’ve heard about the recall anywhere in the media.

Maybe you do this too. Some folks will tell me that they’ve heard something on the radio or saw something on TV or an ad showed up in their Facebook feed.

As we all know, this makes getting signatures just a little bit easier. It’s taking a while, but we believe we’re starting to see that our media campaign is making a real impact.

But it takes funds to do this, and every single donation helps. People who don’t live in District 1 are always asking how they can help. When they do, just hand them a donor envelope.

Please pass out the donor envelopes, consider hosting a small Recall fundraiser gathering, and don’t be afraid to ask your friends, family, colleagues, or acquaintances to donate (even a little bit) to the cause.

Thanks for all you’re doing to keep this Recall train on the tracks and headed for success!

From the Legal Committee: With a total of 3,070 signatures, we’re well on our way to completing this part of our task…the signature-gathering portion. Then we can put this Recall on the March ballot.

We’ve really come a long way in a few short months. We gathered our first signature on May 16th. Here’s a breakdown of how the signature-gathering process has gone so far:

  • May: 1600 signatures gathered

  • June: 1400 signatures gathered

  • July: Only 20 signatures per day being gathered so far.

To be finished by August, we need to get back to gathering 40 signatures per day. You can do it. You’ve proved it during May and June.

The signatures you’ve gathered so far have been painstakingly checked by Judy Johnson to make sure they’re authentic. Going through this process before we turn the signatures in to the County Registrar of Voters guarantees a faster counting process.

Thank you, Judy, for being so vigilant.

Just to clear something up…

The Committee to Recall Kevin Crye does NOT want Governor Newsom involved. We prefer to hold a free and fair election by District 1 voters in March 2024.

If all goes as planned, District 1 voters will be able to vote for a new supervisor without any involvement by the governor.

Our goal is to have the Recall on the ballot in the next election, slated for March 5th.

It’s entirely possible to reach these goals with your help. Below is a list of signature events for the next week:
