The Fundraising Committee presents: “Host a Home Fundraisers.” It’s the latest craze in fundraising. If you’d like to host a fundraising gathering or event at your home and you’re not really sure how to do it; the Fundraising Committee has the answer.


They’re currently preparing “Host a Home Fundraiser Information Kits".


The kits include everything you’ll need to make your fundraising event fun, easy and effective. Remember: this is a community-based, grass roots effort and the way we’ll win this recall is through our connections and relationships.


A home fundraiser is a great way to start a discussion and educate people on the issues in a relaxed, casual atmosphere.


The Legal Committee is happy to report that our Petition for Recall was filed with the county clerk’s office on May 3, 2023. They have until May 15th to make sure it meets all legal requirements. During that time, the public can also review the petition to determine whether they want to file a legal challenge against it.


Assuming everything checks out alright and no legal challenges are filed, we should be able to start gathering signatures on May 16th. The petition can be viewed, in person, at the Shasta County Registrar of Voters, 1643 Market St., Redding.


The Canvassing Committee has already built the framework for canvassing every neighborhood in District 1. There are tons of opportunities for you to get involved. You can walk a precinct with a group on the weekends or you can go it alone evenings during the week. Whatever works best for you.


If you haven’t done so already, please email your name, phone number and email address to McKinley.c@gmail.com and Cheryl will get you registered with the PDI app, which can be loaded onto your cell phone. The app makes canvassing easy and fun. And it’s very simple to use.


The meeting place before each canvassing session will be at the IBEW Union Hall, 900 Locust St. in Redding.


Don’t feel like doing traditional neighborhood canvassing? You can help with a table-top event:


· Eureka Way Drive-Thru Signature Events (weekends beginning 5/20 AND our 5/18 kickoff)

· Wal Mart (weekends, beginning 5/27)

· Raley’s Shopping Center (weekends, beginning 5/20)

· Shasta County Library (weekdays, beginning 5/23) 11a-3p.

· Farmer’s Market (no table, just walk-throughs with t-shirts and clipboards) 7:30a-noon.
